As a key part of taking products from concept to manufacture, we carry out a comprehensive exercise in designing every part ready for production, using computer analysis, testing, engineering data and checking of production samples. We cover many manufacturing methods and materials, including injection moulded, vacuum formed, fabricated and cast plastics, sheet aluminium and steel, aluminium, zinc and steel die and gravity castings, wood, and plastic and aluminium extrusions. Engineering data such as tolerance specifications is tailored to each material and manufacturing method. Using advanced SOLIDWORKS CAD, we run draft angle, parting plane and undercut analysis, mould flow, shrinkage and warp analysis, and comparative materials analysis; produce dimensioned 2D drawings with specifications and tolerances; liaise with tool makers; and quality-check and shock-test first moulded samples.
